Stock Boat Plans
Sailing & Power Yacht Price List
Revised 8 April 2008
This page provides a complete list of our currently
available boat plans, a link to the web page for each design, and a
price for each of the following for each design:
- Study Drawings
- Estimating Plans
- Building Plans
- NC Cutting Files
Study Drawings;
Estimating Plans;
Building Plans; NC Cut Files; Oh My...!
What's The Difference?
Study Drawings:
Includes the Sail Plan / Exterior Profile Drawing, and the
Interior Profile & Arrangement Drawing (one to four sheets,
depending on vessel size). These are the first few sheets of the
Building Plan drawings. Study Drawings are just
that... they are for your study, planning, commentary, mark-ups,
or to consider variations on the layout or alternate rig
possibilities. Most of our Study Drawings also make
excellent wall art...!
Estimating Plans: Study
Drawings as described above are not sufficient for cost
estimating purposes - builders will require considerably more
information in order to determine build costs, and owners will
often wish to have more complete information for construction
planning. We have therefore created an Estimating Plans
Set for each of the designs listed below.
Estimating Plans include the Study
Drawings described above, and additionally include Structure
Drawings (one or two additional sheets, depending on Vessel
Size), a complete written Vessel Specification, Scantling List,
Equipment List and if desired, a Builder Short List.
Sufficient information is contained in the Estimating Plans
Set for a builder to provide a firm estimate for
construction of the vessel or for an owner-builder to estimate
materials costs.
Building Plans: Estimating
Plans as described above do not contain
sufficient information for actual construction of the vessel -
only for estimating. In order to build the boat, a
complete set of Building Plans will be required.
Building Plans include the above
Estimating Plans, and additionally provide several other
detail drawings, such as the Lines, Offsets, Structural &
Joinery Sections, Construction Details, Spar Plans (sail) or
Machinery Plans (power), plus a variety of other Detail Drawings
and Design Data, including the vessel's hydrostatics, stability,
performance, propulsion and range.
Custom Design:
We can easily modify any of the designs listed below in order to suit a newly defined
purpose - or we can create an entirely new design based on your
requests. Please feel free to
inquire about any modifications you may have in mind, or
about creating a new Custom Design to
suit your specific requirements, or possibly to develop of any
of our Prototype Designs.
NC Cut Files:
Several of our Stock Designs in metal have been developed for
computer cutting of the metal parts. "NC" simply means
'Numerically Controlled' - a technology for creating pre-cut
boat parts. For details regarding the benefits of NC Cutting
and to find out what's included with an NC Cut File package,
please see our web page on Computerized
Boat Building and on our CAD
Design Stream.
For Study Drawings, Estimating Plans, Building Plans and NC Cutting
File prices, please see the
lists below. One is for Sailing Yachts
and another is for Power Yachts. You will find complete information about ordering plans near the bottom of this page. To place an order
by phone please see our contact information
below. If you prefer to order by fax or by mail, you can print out
our PDF Order Form and send it
according to the directions given on the form.
For more information about boat building costs, and the process of
soliciting estimates from builders, please see our
articles on Affordable
Boatbuilding and Estimating Boatbuilding
Costs.
Please note
that there are several designs below for which NC cutting files have
already been developed, in which case the price is in bold
underlined type. All other NC Cutting File prices
listed reflect our cost to generate NC files for that design, in
which case the files can be created for either metric or imperial
dimensioned materials. Please see the articles on Computerized
Boat Building and on our CAD Design
Stream for more information about the benefits of NC Cutting.
All Estimating Plans and Building Plans with prices given below in
bold underlined type are a complete set
as-is and can be shipped immediately on receipt of your order. Prices
given in plain text indicate that there is some work remaining in order to
complete the Estimating Plan or the Building Plan package, and those will be
shipped as soon as possible after receipt of your order.
All prices are given in US Dollars. Those designs
for which a Stock Building Plans price is not given below are
currently under development. To place an order by phone please see
our contact information below. To order
by fax or by mail a PDF Order Form
has been provided for your convenience.
If you order
pre-existing NC Cut Files (any of the
bold underlined NC
File prices below) along with the complete Building Plans Set for that
vessel (both paid for at the same time) we will provide a discount of
10% off your entire order.
For a complete description of what's included with each of these
design packages, please see our
Stock Design web page. For more

Sail & Motor Vessel Notes
Any
Steel vessel can easily be re-specified with an
aluminum structure. Study Plans will not involve any
changes. To convert a steel design to aluminum, please
add 20% to the cost of the Estimating Plans and the Building
Plans for that design.
* The Aluminum vessels listed above can
only be built in steel if the design is
extensively modified for that
purpose. Please
inquire
for an estimate to accomplish that work.
Aluminum or
Steel designs can also be converted for construction
in
GRP or cold moulded plywood, the cost of which will be quoted separately. For more
information,
please inquire.
** If you order Building Plans within 30 days after purchasing Estimating Plans (for the
same design), we'll deduct half of what you paid for the Estimating
Plans (less shipping) from the Building Plans cost.
All Estimating Plans and Building Plans with prices given in
bold underlined type are a complete
set as-is and can be shipped immediately on receipt of your order.
Prices given in plain text indicate there is some work remaining to be
done in order to complete the Estimating Plan or the Building Plan
package, and those will be shipped as soon as possible after receipt of
your order.
*** A complete Building Plan set is
required in order to build any of the above boat designs,
however the NC Cut Files are entirely
optional. The cost of NC Cut Files is in
addition to the cost of Building Plans or
other drawings.
The NC Cut Files
shown above with bold underlined prices have already been developed, in which case they will have been created for either
metric or imperial dimensioned materials, and for either
steel or aluminum (shown in parentheses).
If the vessel will be built in a location
that requires changing the measurement system, and / or if
there is a change from steel to aluminum structure, additional work
will be required for those changes, the cost of which
will be quoted separately and in addition to the above prices.
If you order
pre-existing NC Cut Files (any of the
bold underlined NC File
prices above) along with the complete Building Plans Set for that vessel
(both paid for at the same time) we will provide a
discount of 10% off your entire order.
Please inquire
as needed
for any additional information your require.
Our aluminum yacht tenders are the perfect companion to any of the yachts
described above...!
8' & 10' Prams - Building Plans:
$550. NC Cutting Files:
$550. (Building Plans are required. NC Cut Files are optional.)
12' & 14'
Prams - Building Plans: USD $750. NC Cutting Files:
USD $750. (Building Plans are required. NC Cut Files are optional.)
Check out our Prototypes web page
